The Integrated Refinery Petrochemical Complex (IRPC) is a center for petrochemical innovation open to visitors with the aim to promote better understanding of the industry. The full-height glazed building and landscaping has inspiring views of the refinery and surround gardens and ponds.
The Landscape design creates a fluid
environment where users
meander throughout the site seamlessly, bringing a counterpoint between the
building and landscape architecture. The activities’ flow swirls around the
selected forms to connect and integrate all functional currents and
spaces. The cohesive planning scheme brings
in cross-ventilation and water flow to the inner
court. All is to create a simple combination of
comfort and relaxation in the environment.
The presence of the
inner court also draws sufficient daylight to the office space and work place,
making the energy consumption scheme more user-friendly and sustainable. The
local character of softs-scape and the movement of the curve and form
accentuate a dynamic atmosphere, introducing landscape architecture into
contemporary working life. The project had envisioned a multidisciplinary
collaboration where all design touch points communicates with all stakeholders
and users. Therefore, the project has an engaging identity where all users can
feel a sense of belonging.
